How something gets on this list

An idea has to survive being ignored for a week, then survive being built as an ugly version and used daily for a fortnight. Most do not. The ones that do get built properly against a fixed floor: narrowest permissions the job needs, work done locally where possible, no account for the core feature, and usable on a phone.
